Heavenly Flames Wiki/Getting Started

Cultivation: Heavenly Flames

A Heavenly Flame (天火) is not a technique and not a pill. It is a living fire — one of a handful said to still exist, each with its own temperament and its own idea of who deserves it. This add-on names and ranks twenty-two of them, from the Dark Yellow Flame's plain, unglamorous heat up to the Emperor Flame, which does not burn hotter than the rest so much as own every element fire could be.

Cultivation: Heavenly Flames is a paid add-on, bought outright or included with a Cultivation subscription. Cultivation itself is free and always will be.

Devour, and replace

You do not roll a flame and you do not craft one. You devour one — right-click the item — and the BTTH's own devour-and-replace rule decides what happens:

There is no ceremony beyond that, and no realm or Ascension gate stands in the way. A flame can find its way to a brand-new cultivator as easily as a seasoned one.

At most one flame, ever

A cultivator carries at most one Heavenly Flame at a time, enforced in code rather than by convention. You are not stacking fires — you are finding out, over time, whether something stronger than what you already carry ever comes your way. /heavenlyflame tells you what you hold; /heavenlyflame list shows you the entire ranking so you know exactly what would and would not be worth swallowing.

What this release does not do yet

Worth saying plainly, in the same place the mechanics are explained, rather than leaving it to be discovered later: this release ships no loot table, mining drop, or crafting recipe for the flame items. That discovery fantasy is not built yet.

Right now, a flame reaches a player only through an admin's own hand — /heavenlyflame give or the Players-tab "Set Flame" row in Cultivation's admin panel (covered in full on Admin and Config). The devour-and-replace rule, the full twenty-two-flame ranking, and everything a flame changes about a cultivator are real and complete. Populating flames into the world for players to actually find is the next step, not this one — so if your server wants Heavenly Flames live for players today, an admin handing them out is the intended path, not a workaround.

Getting it

Heavenly Flames is available in the Pavilion, either bought outright or included with a Cultivation subscription. It requires Cultivation v0.9.1 or newer — the manifest refuses to load on anything older. It is server-side only: install the jar beside Cultivation and restart, and your players install nothing.

The rest of this wiki

Cultivation is free and will stay free. Supporting it through an add-on like this is what pays for the time that goes into the free half.
