Auras, Banners & Titles
Four more cosmetic surfaces beyond the palettes themselves.
The brighter realm aura
Your cultivation aura — the visible Qi your realm gives off — is the only cosmetic in the mod that other players read from a distance. Every one of Jade Slip's eight palettes carries its own denser realm-aura set, emitting roughly twice as thickly as Cultivation's own, so your realm reads at proper range instead of only up close.
The denser aura is tied to wearing a Jade Slip palette, not to having the mod installed. A player wearing Cultivation's own default look always gets the stock aura; the brighter set only shows while one of the eight Jade Slip palettes is equipped.
Server owners can switch the whole set off with Brighter-Auras — every Jade Slip palette then falls back to Cultivation's own quieter aura while keeping the rest of its theming. See For Server Owners for when that toggle actually takes effect.
Meditation auras
A separate, smaller collection: Still Water, Vermilion Tide, and Leaf and Ember. Where the realm aura is what you look like standing and walking around, a meditation aura is what you look like while sitting — through all three tick stages Cultivation already has (Stirring, Gathering, Converging) — and at the moment a breakthrough or an advancement completes.
This is deliberately independent of your palette. A palette re-grades the menus you're looking at; a meditation aura is what you look like while doing something, so the two never constrain each other — wear Frost Peak's menus and meditate under Leaf and Ember, or the reverse. That's also why there are three of these rather than eight: they're their own small collection with their own names, not a recolor of each palette.
Pick one from the Meditation Aura dropdown in Settings, next to the theme dropdown. Server owners can gate them individually behind Meditation-Auras-Require-Permission, which puts each behind its own jadeslip.meditationAura.<id> node (jadeslip.meditationAura.stillwater, and so on) — off by default, and gating choosing rather than keeping, exactly like the palettes and banners below.
Sect banners
Eleven more sect hall banners, on top of the six Cultivation ships with already. Five answer to Jade Slip's first five palettes, so a sect running the Frost look can fly a banner that matches it:
Matching your palette — Frost Peak · Verdant Hall · Bloodmoon · Golden Court · Ink Wash
Sect standards — Stormcaller · Emberfall · Night Lotus · Steelsong · Duskshroud · Thornshade
The three palettes added after the original five — Starfall Peak, Jade Dawn and Lantern Court — were not given a matching banner; nothing requires one, since a hall's banner is chosen independently of any member's own palette.
Fly one from the Hall Banner picker on the sect menu, or /sect banner set <name>, the same way you'd choose one of Cultivation's own six. Server owners can gate Jade Slip's banners behind Banners-Require-Permission, putting each behind its own jadeslip.banner.<id> node. Off by default, and gating choosing rather than keeping — a sect already flying one keeps flying it regardless of the toggle.
Cosmetic titles
Nine titles, shown in the Titles half of Cultivation's Identity page alongside its own. Eight are tied to a palette and unlock while that palette is equipped, not merely owned — so settling on one says something, rather than every supporter carrying all eight labels at once:
| Title | Earned by |
|---|---|
| Slip-Bearer | Nothing beyond having Jade Slip installed — the plain thank-you for carrying the slip. |
| Snowbound | Wearing the Frost Peak palette. |
| Hall-Verdant | Wearing the Verdant Hall palette. |
| Moon-Drenched | Wearing the Bloodmoon palette. |
| Court-Gilded | Wearing the Golden Court palette. |
| Ink and Water | Wearing the Ink Wash palette. |
| Starbound | Wearing the Starfall Peak palette. |
| Dawnkissed | Wearing the Jade Dawn palette. |
| Court-Lantern | Wearing the Lantern Court palette. |
Like every title in Cultivation, these are read live at the moment you try to equip them — switch away from a palette and its title stops being equippable, though a title you already had equipped stays worn until you change it, exactly as Cultivation's own titles behave. Server owners can turn the whole set off with Titles-Enabled.
Codex lore
Four articles in the in-game Codex, written as lore rather than as mechanics — deliberately: every article Cultivation ships answers a mechanical question with live numbers from your server, and these don't. They're the fiction the mechanics sit inside, sorted to land after the base mod's own entries in each category rather than in among them.
| Article | Category | About |
|---|---|---|
| On Jade Slips | Path | Where the tablets came from, and how a cultivator actually reads one. |
| The Banner Over the Hall | World | What a sect's light meant before anyone thought of it as a settings choice. |
| The Four Symbols | World | The four cardinal guardians, and why a sect flies one over the others. |
| The Colour of a Temperament | Self | Why a cultivator's surroundings come to look like them — with a line on each of the eight palettes and what wearing it is said to say about you. |
A server that wants its Codex to stay a pure mechanics manual can leave these out entirely by not installing Jade Slip; nothing else in Cultivation references them.
