Cultivation: Landlord
Cave Abode, Landlord Edition (租). Your Cave Abode draws Qi out of the ground into a Spirit Spring. Landlord lets you take on one tenant, who is let through your door and may draw a percentage of that spring for themselves. What they leave, you collect as usual. When the arrangement sours, one command ends it.
Landlord is a free add-on: sign in at the Pavilion and download it. It is a small one on purpose. It adds no new kind of dwelling and never subdivides an abode; it changes nothing in Cultivation itself and keeps its own records in its own file.
Every message it sends is written in the voice of a landlord who is not mad, just disappointed — in all five of Cultivation's languages.
How a tenancy works
- You need a Cave Abode of your own first, and it has to be a personal one. A sect hall belongs to the whole sect, not to any one member to sublet.
/landlord rent <player> <percent>signs an online player on as your tenant for that share of the spring. The percent must fall between the server's floor and ceiling (10 and 90 by default), so you always keep something and never sign a cut too small to be worth the paperwork.- The tenant is told straight away, and is granted the same trusted-guest pass
/cultivation abodealready hands out, so they can walk past the abode's protection. - One tenant at a time. To replace them, evict first.
- A tenant standing inside your abode runs
/landlord collectto draw their percentage of whatever the spring has banked. Standing anywhere else does nothing. The rest stays banked for your own/cultivation abode collect. /landlord evict <player>ends the tenancy and takes the pass back. It matches the name against the tenant on record — their current name if they are online, their last-seen name if not — so it works whether or not they are logged in./landlord statusreports the arrangement you are party to, on either side: who, what share, the room's name, and whether the spring is still being sustained (its upkeep is paid).
The spring only fills for hours your upkeep actually covered, so a landlord who lets the abode lapse has nothing to share; see Cave Abode for upkeep.
The room has a cosmetic name, shown in /landlord status, but nothing in this release sets it — every rented room is called The Rented Room.
Commands
| Command | Who | What |
|---|---|---|
/landlord | anyone | A hint toward the other commands. |
/landlord rent <player> <percent> | landlord | Take on an online player as tenant for that percent of the spring. |
/landlord evict <player> | landlord | End the tenancy. Works with the tenant offline. |
/landlord collect | tenant | Draw your cut of the spring. Only works inside your landlord's abode. |
/landlord status | either side | Report the arrangement you are party to. |
Every /landlord command uses the base cultivation permission node, which everyone has by default.
For server owners
Three settings, in mods/Siren_CultivationLandlord/LandlordConfig.json. The file carries its own Description-Landlord documentation. The addon adds no section to the in-game admin config editor.
| Key | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
Landlord-Enabled | true | Master switch. Off, every /landlord command refuses to act. Tenancies already on record stay recorded and resume when it is switched back on. It also needs Cultivation's own Cave Abode system enabled. |
Min-Tenant-Share-Percent | 10 | The smallest cut a landlord may offer. |
Max-Tenant-Share-Percent | 90 | The largest cut a landlord may offer. The landlord always keeps at least 100 minus this. |
Tenancies are stored in the addon's own data file, Data/TenanciesData.json. Cultivation's abode data is never written to.
Getting it
Landlord is free. Sign in to the Pavilion with the Hytale account you play on and download it. It is server-side only: drop the jar beside Cultivation and restart, and your players install nothing.
The current build is v0.2.0. It requires Cultivation 0.11.0 or newer and a Hytale Update 7 server (Server API 0.7.0-pre.5.1), and will not load on an Update 6 server; the previous version is the one to keep there. Release 0.2.0 had no gameplay changes.
