Cultivation: Snail Realm
The Unhurried Way (蜗). The Snailkin are shell-born cultivators who answer every question with patience. They walk at half a mortal's pace, their breakthroughs take ten times as long, and in return their Qi runs twice as fast for as long as they hold perfectly still. The mountain does not hurry, and the mountain arrives.
Snail Realm is a free add-on: sign in at the Pavilion and download it. It adds one race, Snailkin, and nothing else.
The Snailkin
Snailkin appears in the race menu (/cultivation race) beside Human, Demon and Deity. It is available from the first realm, Body Refinement, like Human, so a new cultivator can choose it with the one race change everyone starts with.
| Trait | Value |
|---|---|
| Health | +35% |
| Damage | -20% |
| Yin bias | +25%, so meditated Qi leans receptive and still |
| Move speed | -50% (configurable) |
| Breakthrough ritual | Ten times longer (configurable) |
| Qi gain | x2 while standing still (configurable) |
Health, damage and Yin bias are fixed. They are the race's identity, not settings. The slow move speed adds to the skill tree's own movement bonus rather than overwriting it.
Stillness
A Snailkin who stands perfectly still — not walking, not swimming, not drifting — for 2 seconds finds all their Qi gain multiplied by 2. The multiplier shows as a Stillness row among your bonuses while it is active, and a one-time cue (a chime and a chat line) plays the moment it engages, at most once every 30 seconds so alternating between still and moving cannot spam it. Any movement resets the count. Stillness is measured on the server four times a second, and the first moment after joining never counts as instant stillness.
Meditation is itself standing still, so the multiplier stacks naturally on top of normal meditation. The race grants no flat Qi bonus on top, to avoid double-dipping.
The long breakthrough
Know this before you choose the path: a Snailkin's breakthrough ritual takes roughly ten times as long as any other race's. The tribulation strikes no more often over that whole span than for anyone else — the add-on stretches the interval between bolts by the same amount, so the bolt count stays about the same — but the ritual itself is a far longer commitment. Do not begin one you cannot see through. The race card only gestures at this, so the Codex article The Unhurried Way states it up front.
Commands
Snail Realm adds no commands. You choose the race in the menu, and the rest happens as you stand and walk.
For server owners
Six settings, in mods/Siren_CultivationSnailRealm/Config.json, also exposed as the Snail Realm section of the in-game admin config editor (on both the Config tab and Cultivation's settings menu), applied live. The race's numbers are re-read every time Cultivation looks at them, so an edit shows immediately.
| Key | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
Snail-Realm-Enabled | true | Master switch for the idle Qi bonus and the stillness cue. Off, the race stays fully selectable with all of its other stats unchanged. |
Idle-Qi-Multiplier | 2.0 | Qi gain multiplier while still. Held between 1.0 and 10.0. |
Stillness-Required-Seconds | 2.0 | How long to hold still before the bonus engages. Held between 0 and 60. |
Move-Speed-Percent | -50 | The race's movement change. Held between -90 and 0, so a Snailkin can never stop dead or speed up. |
Breakthrough-Duration-Percent-Reduction | -900 | The breakthrough ritual's duration change, and also the tribulation strike-interval change, so the bolt count stays steady. -900 is ten times longer. Held between -9900 and 90. |
Stillness-Cue-Enabled | true | Whether the chime and chat line play when the bonus engages. |
Move-Speed-Percent and Breakthrough-Duration-Percent-Reduction feed the same race fields as any other race's file; see Race Configs for what they mean.
Nothing is persisted about stillness: a Snailkin mid-stillness when the server restarts simply starts the count again.
Getting it
Snail Realm is free. Sign in to the Pavilion with the Hytale account you play on and download it. It is server-side only: drop the jar beside Cultivation and restart, and your players install nothing.
The current build is v0.2.0. It requires Cultivation 0.11.0 or newer and a Hytale Update 7 server (Server API 0.7.0-pre.5.1), and will not load on an Update 6 server; the previous version is the one to keep there. Release 0.2.0 had no gameplay changes.
If a pairing with Cultivation is ever published as incompatible, the race itself stays — Cultivation cannot un-register a race — but its numbers fall back to Human's until the versions match again. Everyone who chose Snailkin keeps the race.
