Party (队伍)
A party is a temporary group of cultivators with one leader. You form it with a few chat commands, it lives only as long as the server stays up, and right now it exists for one reason: the Dungeons. A dungeon run starts from a party, and the party leader is the only one who can start it.
v0.9.1 Parties are on by default (Party-Enabled) and hold up to four cultivators, leader included (Party-Max-Size).
A party is not a sect. It has no hall, no roster that survives a restart, and no shared Qi, loot or chat. Joining, leaving or disbanding one never touches your Qi, your sect or any other progress. The only thing a party does is tell the Dungeon system who is going in together.
Forming a Party
Anyone can start one. You do not need to create a party first - you just invite someone, and the party comes into being the moment they accept.
- Invite them:
/cultivation party invite {player}. They must be online. You are told the invite is sent, and they get a message with the exact command to answer it. - They answer within a minute (
Party-Invite-Expiry-Seconds, 60):/cultivation party accept {player}joins the inviter's party. The name you type is the inviter's, not your own./cultivation party decline {player}turns it down, and the inviter is told.
- An invite nobody answers expires on its own, and a party that nobody accepted into never exists.
The inviter becomes the leader. To grow the party, the leader repeats step 1 for each new member. A player can hold invites from several people at once and answers each by name.
Who can invite whom
- Only the leader can invite. Once you are a member of someone else's party you cannot invite others.
- You cannot invite yourself, or a cultivator who is already in a party.
- You cannot send a second invite to someone who still has your first one pending.
- A full party (four by default) cannot take another member. A full party also cannot send a new invite.
- An invite goes stale if the inviter's party changes leader before you answer. Accepting then says there is no pending invite.
Leaving and Disbanding
| Command | Who | What happens |
|---|---|---|
/cultivation party leave | Anyone in a party | You step out. The others are told who left. If you were the leader, the member who joined earliest of those left becomes leader and is told so. If you were the last member, the party simply ends. |
/cultivation party disband | The leader only | The whole party ends at once, and every other member is told. |
There is no kick command. A leader who wants someone gone either disbands and re-forms the party, or asks them to leave.
Logging out does not remove you from your party. You stay on the roster until you leave, the leader disbands, or the server restarts. That matters for Dungeons: an offline member stops the whole party from entering until they come back or the leader starts over.
Plain /cultivation party shows your party - its size out of the maximum, the leader, and the members - or says you are not in one.
What Parties Are For: Dungeons
A Dungeon run needs a party. /cultivation dungeon enter {id} refuses to start unless all of this holds:
- You are in a party and you are its leader.
- The party's size is within the dungeon's own limits (
Dungeon-Party-Min-Size1 andDungeon-Party-Max-Size4 by default). - Every member is online, in the entrance's world, and close enough to the entrance gate.
- No member is a fleeing Nascent Soul (see Nascent Soul Escape).
- The party is not already inside a run.
When the run starts, the roster is fixed for the whole fight. Everyone who contributes damage is paid by their own share when the boss falls - the party itself carries no shared reward.
There is no solo mode. A party only comes into being when an invite is accepted, so a lone cultivator cannot simply enter a dungeon. The way around it: invite a friend, have them accept, then have them /cultivation party leave. You stay behind as the leader of a one-member party, which a dungeon with a minimum size of 1 will accept.
Commands
| Command | Description | Permission |
|---|---|---|
/cultivation party | Shows your party, or says you are not in one. | cultivation |
/cultivation party invite {player} | Invites an online cultivator. Leader only, once a party exists. | cultivation |
/cultivation party accept {player} | Accepts that player's pending invite and joins their party. | cultivation |
/cultivation party decline {player} | Declines that player's pending invite. | cultivation |
/cultivation party leave | Leaves your party. | cultivation |
/cultivation party disband | Ends your party. Leader only. | cultivation |
cultivation is granted to every player by default - see Permissions. There are no admin party commands.
For Server Owners
Lives in mods/Siren_Cultivation/Society/PartyConfig.json. Its settings can also be changed in the in-game admin editor (/cultivation admin), in the party section. See Society Config for the other files in the folder.
| Key | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
Party-Enabled | true | Master switch. When off, inviting and accepting are refused with "Parties are not enabled on this server." |
Party-Max-Size | 4 | Most cultivators in one party, leader included. |
Party-Invite-Expiry-Seconds | 60 | How long an unanswered invite waits before it silently expires. |
Keep Party-Max-Size no larger than Dungeon-Party-Max-Size in DungeonConfig.json, or a full party will be told it is too large to enter. Parties are held in memory only: a restart empties every one of them, and the config has no roster to edit.
For add-on authors
PartyEvents fires PartyFormedEvent (the first accepted invite), PartyMemberJoinedEvent, PartyMemberLeftEvent and PartyDisbandedEvent, plus a cancellable PrePartyInviteEvent that lets a listener veto an invite. See Events.
