Breach & Boss Rewards
v0.11.1Hytale Update 7 added world events and boss fights of its own: the Goblin Breach, the Goblin Coffer (the game itself calls it a Veilbound Coffer), the Voidtaken Hunt, and dungeon bosses such as the Feastmaster and the Gobliterator. Cultivation does not start, place or change any of them. It only listens. When one is cleared, or a listed boss dies, it pays the cultivators who were there: sect contribution, Merit, Spirit Stones and credit toward a sect mission. Bosses on a second list also drop a guaranteed core.
It is on by default (Breach-Reward-Enabled) and needs no setup. If your server does not run the Update 7 events, nothing ever pays and nothing breaks.
What pays
There are four kinds of reward. Each waits for its own signal, so a player cannot pay one out by hand.
| Kind | Waits for | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Goblin Breach | The goblin_initial_breach_cleared signal, sent by the breach event's encounter when it is cleared. | The place that counts is wherever that encounter stands. The game keeps spawning breach sites until a Goblin lab generator is used, which is why this kind has a daily cap. |
| Goblin Coffer | The coffer_goblin_complete signal. | The game sends the same signal whether the coffer was won, canceled (its block was broken mid-event) or ran out of time, and Cultivation cannot tell them apart. All three pay. The daily cap is what bounds it. |
| Voidtaken Hunt | The hunt_complete signal, sent when the tracked predator dies. | Not the hunt's own end: that event also ends on a 30-minute safety timer, which would pay everyone near a hunt nobody killed. |
| Dungeon Boss | The death of an NPC whose role is on Dungeon-Boss-Reward-Roles. | Default list: Dungeon_Feastmaster_Boss, Goblin_Gobliterator_Phase3, Goblin_Gobliterator_Phase3_HM. Only the Gobliterator's final phase is listed, so the earlier phases pay nothing. |
If the same kind signals again in the same chunk within a minute, it counts once.
Who is paid
Everyone who meets all of these when the event resolves:
- is in the same world as the event, alive, and within
Breach-Reward-Radius-Blocks(48) of where it resolved (for a boss, where it fell); - is not on a test profile, which earns nothing real. The player is told so;
- has been fighting. For a Breach, Coffer or Hunt that means landing a hit on any non-player creature in the last 20 seconds, or taking real damage recently enough that the HUD's combat chip is still lit (the same lockout the Transmission Array uses). The creature need not belong to the event; the rule is there to keep bystanders and logged-in-but-idle players from collecting. For a Dungeon Boss it means something stricter: you damaged that boss in the 15 minutes before it died.
A spirit beast's blow counts as its master's for both rules, unless the master is a fleeing Nascent Soul. The killing blow does not matter: a boss that dies to a trap, a mob or another player still pays everyone who hurt it. Offline players are never paid, and nobody in another world is.
The boss ledger remembers up to 48 different attackers per boss, which is plenty for any party.
The payout
Each paid player receives all of the following. The numbers are the shipped defaults and are the base values; every one is a config key (see below).
| Kind | Sect contribution | Merit | Spirit Stones |
|---|---|---|---|
| Goblin Breach | 15 | 5 | 3 |
| Goblin Coffer | 10 | 3 | 2 |
| Voidtaken Hunt | 20 | 6 | 4 |
| Dungeon Boss | 40 | 10 | 10 |
- Sect contribution goes to members of a sect only, and only while sects are switched on. A player with no sect is still paid everything else.
- Merit is a new deed, "clearing a Goblin Breach", used for all four kinds. It is repeatable, has nobody on the receiving end, and so skips both the pair cooldown and the realm gap. It still passes the Karma and Path throttle, your ceiling and
Merit-Daily-Cap, and pays nothing whileMerit-Enabledis off. See Earning Merit. - Spirit Stones are written to the same crash-safe ledger the Void Rift uses (
mods/Siren_Cultivation/Data/RiftData.json) and delivered at once, hotbar first and then pack. - Sect mission credit. Every payout counts as one cleared event toward a sect mission called Clear Goblin Breaches: 3 events, 40 contribution points, open to every rank, 24-hour cooldown. Cultivation registers it in code, so it appears on every sect's Mission Board without touching
SectConfig.json. An entry with the same id in your own config replaces it.
Daily caps
There are two separate caps, counted per player per UTC day (they reset at 00:00 UTC):
| Cap | Default | Shared by |
|---|---|---|
Breach-Reward-Daily-Cap | 5 | Goblin Breach and Goblin Coffer |
Boss-Reward-Daily-Cap | 3 | Voidtaken Hunt and Dungeon Boss |
Five Breaches, or three Breaches and two Coffers, use up the first. A day of Hunts and boss kills can never touch it. A value of 0 or less turns that cap off.
The counts are saved in RiftData.json, so a restart does not reset them. A player who is over a cap gets nothing from that clear (no stones, contribution, Merit or mission credit) and is told how many they have already collected. If the stones cannot be queued, the claim is handed back so the player is not charged for a payout they never got.
What you see
| When | Chat line |
|---|---|
| Paid, in a sect | Goblin Breach cleared! +3 Spirit Stone(s) and +15 sect contribution. |
| Paid, no sect | Goblin Breach cleared! +3 Spirit Stone(s). |
| Stones set to 0, contribution above 0 (sect members only) | Goblin Breach cleared! +15 sect contribution. |
| Merit credited | The usual Merit +5 (now N). line, and the throttle line if Karma or your Path held it down. |
| Over the Breach and Coffer cap | You have already collected 5 breach and coffer rewards today. Come back tomorrow. |
| Over the Hunt and boss cap | You have already collected 3 hunt and dungeon boss rewards today. Come back tomorrow. |
| Your pack has no room | A breach reward had nowhere to go - your bags are too full to carry it. |
The event name in the first lines is Goblin Breach, Goblin Coffer, Voidtaken Hunt or Dungeon Boss. When the pack is full the stones stay on the ledger and are delivered the next time any reward reaches you, such as your next login. If every number in a payout is 0 you get no line at all, and the contribution part of a line appears only for members of a sect, so with Spirit Stones at 0 a player with no sect gets no line even when the contribution is above 0.
Boss cores
Separately from the payout above, a few boss roles change what a kill drops. Every creature kill normally rolls for a core (see Cultivation Cores): at most one, rarest first. A creature whose role is on Boss-Core-Npc-Roles skips that roll and always drops a Profound Core, or a Divine Core with probability Boss-Core-Divine-Chance (0.25).
The default list:
| Role id | Creature |
|---|---|
Skeleton_Elite_Phase_2 | Revenant Guardian, second phase |
Bear_Voidtaken | Voidtaken Grizzly, the predator of the Voidtaken Hunt |
Dungeon_Feastmaster_Boss | Feastmaster, the dungeon boss |
Goblin_Gobliterator_Phase3 | Gobliterator, final phase |
Goblin_Gobliterator_Phase3_HM | Gobliterator, final phase, hard mode |
- The core goes to the player who lands the killing blow with their own hand, hotbar first and then pack. A spirit beast's kill, a trap, or a mob that kills the boss gives no core, and neither does a test profile. This differs from the Dungeon Boss payout, which pays everyone who damaged the boss.
Void_Spectre, a night-time Void creature, is deliberately not on the default list. As a common night spawn it would turn Profound Cores into a farm. Add only creatures you want to be worth hunting.- Role ids this server version does not ship are never matched, so an old list does no harm. Ids are matched without regard to case.
- These cores are not new items: a Profound Core is also craftable now, from vanilla Update 7 materials; see Forging.
The Void Rift's Warden and the Calamity Beast are not on it. They pay Spirit Stones by contribution instead.
A compass alert for world bosses
The same Update 7 compass that flags a Goblin Breach now flags a Calamity Beast (and the themed bosses of the celestial events) during the first 30 seconds after it appears, and a Void Rift during the first 30 seconds after it opens (the pulse itself runs up to 10 seconds once the pin is in view). That is not a reward, but it is part of the same update. The keys are Boss-Compass-Alert-Window-Seconds and Rift-Compass-Alert-Window-Seconds.
What is not rewarded
- Standing near a Breach, Coffer or Hunt without fighting anything. A boss pays only those who hurt it.
- Anyone in another world, offline, dead at the moment it resolves, or on a test profile.
- Kills of bosses not on
Dungeon-Boss-Reward-Roles, such as the Gobliterator's first two phases. - Anything past a daily cap.
- A Coffer is not checked for being won: a canceled or timed-out one pays too.
- Hytale's own drops and rewards are untouched. Cultivation adds to them.
Running it
There are no commands. The /cultivation admin editor has a Breach Rewards section with 16 settings: the master switch, the radius, both caps, and the contribution, Merit and Spirit Stone value for each of the four kinds. The role list (Dungeon-Boss-Reward-Roles) is file-only, because the editor has no text field. The Spirit Cores section gained a Boss Core Enabled switch and a Boss Core Divine Chance % row (shown as a percent, stored as a fraction); Boss-Core-Npc-Roles is also file-only.
Configuration
The rewards live in mods/Siren_Cultivation/Society/BreachRewardConfig.json. Nothing below 0 is accepted by the editor. A negative number typed into the file pays nothing for that part, and a negative cap means no cap.
| Key | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
Breach-Reward-Enabled | true | Master switch for every reward on this page except the cores. |
Breach-Reward-Radius-Blocks | 48 | How near to the event, or the fallen boss, a player in the same world must be. At 0 nobody is paid. |
Breach-Reward-Daily-Cap | 5 | Per player per UTC day, shared by Breach and Coffer. 0 or less is uncapped. |
Boss-Reward-Daily-Cap | 3 | Per player per UTC day, shared by Hunt and Dungeon Boss. 0 or less is uncapped. |
Dungeon-Boss-Reward-Roles | Dungeon_Feastmaster_Boss,Goblin_Gobliterator_Phase3,Goblin_Gobliterator_Phase3_HM | Comma-separated role ids whose death pays the Dungeon Boss reward. File-only. Keep at least one entry; see the note below. |
Breach-Reward-Breach-Contribution / -Merit / -Spirit-Stones | 15 / 5.0 / 3 | Goblin Breach payout. |
Breach-Reward-Coffer-Contribution / -Merit / -Spirit-Stones | 10 / 3.0 / 2 | Goblin Coffer payout. |
Breach-Reward-Hunt-Contribution / -Merit / -Spirit-Stones | 20 / 6.0 / 4 | Voidtaken Hunt payout. |
Breach-Reward-Dungeon-Boss-Contribution / -Merit / -Spirit-Stones | 40 / 10.0 / 10 | Dungeon Boss payout. |
The same system that records who hit a boss also records who has been fighting, and it switches itself off when Dungeon-Boss-Reward-Roles is empty. With an empty list, Breach, Coffer and Hunt payouts can only reach players who recently took damage, and a player who only dealt it is missed. To stop paying for bosses alone, replace the list with a role id that never appears; to stop everything, use Breach-Reward-Enabled.
The boss cores are in mods/Siren_Cultivation/Cultivation/SpiritCoreConfig.json:
| Key | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
Boss-Core-Enabled | true | Master switch for guaranteed boss cores. Off, every kill uses the normal roll. |
Boss-Core-Divine-Chance | 0.25 | Chance, from 0 to 1, that a listed boss drops a Divine Core instead of a Profound Core. Out-of-range values are clamped. |
Boss-Core-Npc-Roles | Skeleton_Elite_Phase_2,Bear_Voidtaken,Goblin_Gobliterator_Phase3,Goblin_Gobliterator_Phase3_HM,Dungeon_Feastmaster_Boss | Comma-separated role ids. File-only. |
